SIKA, Dr. Siebert & Kühn, has been manufacturing precision measuring and monitoring instruments since 1901. The original "SIKA" thermometer was developed by graduate engineer Hans Siebert and was granted patent no. 767466 for its basic design in 1939. The thermometers are produced exclusively in Kaufungen near Kassel, Germany - quality "Made in Germany". Since their invention, SIKA thermometers have stood for robustness, reliability and accuracy. They combine the knowledge and experience from thousands of applications. That is why it is impossible to imagine marine technology, mechanical and plant engineering as well as heating and air conditioning technology without them. Over 15 million reliable temperature monitors have already been manufactured in Kaufungen. The advantage of a glass thermometer compared to other thermometers such as dial thermometers or digital thermometers is obvious: no mechanically moving parts, no material fatigue, no electrical power requirement, but a lifetime measuring accuracy. As long as a glass thermometer is not mechanically damaged, it remains accurate for life.

The machine thermometer from SIKA is available in an industrial and marine version. It has a high-quality V-shaped aluminum housing, which is polished smooth on all sides and anodized in gold. The display areas are imprinted in black on the right-hand scale cheek under the anodized layer, which fixes them permanently and irremovably. The thermometer is available as standard in various versions and display ranges from -30 °C to 600 °C. It offers a variety of immersion tubes made of different materials such as brass, steel, stainless steel, special brass or copper-nickel alloy, as well as a choice of connection types and threads. The machine thermometer range comprises a total of more than 17,000 different variants, including customer-specific special designs.

SIKA has modified and optimized the machine thermometer for heating and air conditioning applications. It offers a combination of reliable measuring accuracy and an outstanding price-performance ratio. Two different housing versions and three different housing sizes are available especially for these applications.

SIKA produces the mechanical components and glass inserts for the standard types in large quantities automatically. For special types, such as high-precision thermometers, the glass inserts continue to be manufactured by experienced glassblowers using traditional manual methods. With many years of experience and expertise, SIKA is also able to implement individual customer requirements. Common types are available from stock or within a few days, while rare or customized designs are produced to order.
