Emergency power supply
An emergency power supply is a system designed to mitigate power outages and provide continuous power to critical electrical equipment or facilities in the event of a power failure. An emergency power supply usually consists of a generator, one or more batteries, and an automatic transfer switch capable of automatically switching between the normal power supply and the emergency power supply.
Emergency power supplies are often used in critical areas such as hospitals, data centers, airports, power plants and other critical infrastructure where a power outage can have serious consequences. Most emergency power supplies are designed to maintain power for a limited period of time until power is restored or until an alternate power source is available.
