Moisture measurement with VIS/NIR photometers
Our VIS/NIR photometers precisely measure the water content in various products. These devices are non-contact and can be integrated into existing production processes to monitor moisture in real time and automatically adjust the process if necessary.
Functionality
The measurement uses the absorption bands of water molecules in the near infrared (NIR), which is located directly after visible light. This allows us to measure accurately even under difficult conditions.
Measuring principles for different materials

Transparent materials (liquids and gases): Our transmission photometers measure the water content, e.g. in brake fluid, to ensure quality during production.

Opaque materials (solids): In reflection photometry, the reflected light is used to determine the moisture content of solids, e.g. in PVB film for safety glass.

Combination of transmission and reflection: This enables the precise measurement of moisture in PVB film in windscreens, ensuring optimum adhesion.
