Calibration of temperature sensor
Temperature sensors are subject to mechanical, thermal and chemical stresses that can lead to drift over time. Regular calibration of the sensors enables the difference between actual and measured temperature to be checked and reveals the specific drift behavior. Dry block calibrators and micro calibration baths are used to check and calibrate a wide variety of temperature measuring instruments and sensors. With these compact and robust instruments from SIKA, mechanical, electro-mechanical or electronic measuring instruments can be easily checked. The instruments are easy to transport, simple to operate and offer all the necessary functions for the test in question. Depending on the place of use in the test field, in production or in the test and inspection laboratory as well as in the measuring workshop, there are different requirements for a temperature calibrator. Therefore, the instruments must be light and handy for easy and quick on-site use. SIKA offers various temperature calibrators for a range from -55 °C to 1300 °C.
The following measuring devices can be tested directly:
- Contact measuring immersion or surface temperature sensors
- Probes with special shapes and geometries
- Non-contact infrared instruments and thermal imaging cameras
TP Premium Series
The TP Premium series is characterized by optimum performance and superior ease of operation. The self-explanatory menu structure allows easy and quick entry of the required parameters. The touch display shows the block and set temperature as well as the difference and stability variance. The block temperature can be set to an accuracy of 0.001 °C. The calibrators operate in the temperature range up to 700 °C with excellent stability and accuracy. By combining the dry block design with an input for an external reference sensor, SIKA calibrators achieve the same accuracy as laboratory calibrators while maintaining the speed and portability of a dry block. The temperature sensor under test can be directly connected and evaluated, no additional instrumentation is required. In combination with a PC, a stand-alone calibration system can be created for extremely time-saving test runs.
TP Solid Series
The TP Solid series temperature calibrators focus on flexibility. Operation is simple, intuitive and allows quick access to comprehensive functions. In addition to dry-block calibrators, the range also includes micro calibration baths, which are used as liquid bath calibrators with a rotational speed-controlled magnetic stirrer. Switchable functions combined with an external reference probe allow various temperature monitoring devices to be checked regardless of geometry or measurement method. Switching between internal and external reference is easily done by a toggle switch. All instruments of this series are equipped with a serial PC interface.
TP Basic Series
The temperature calibrators of the TP Basic series were developed for direct on-site use and are designed as dry-block calibrators. Efficiency and portability are the main focus of these instruments. By using the correct adapter sleeve, optimum thermal coupling between the block and the test specimen can be achieved. The bore in the sleeve should ideally have a diameter that is 0.5 mm larger than the outer diameter of the test specimen. The adapter sleeve can be used to calibrate almost all straight temperature sensors with different lengths and diameters. Some dry block calibrators have a large block bore of 60 mm, which allows simultaneous calibration of several test specimens.
Calibration accessories
We offer a wide range of accessories for our dry-block temperature calibrators and micro calibration baths. These include matching transition sleeves for optimum thermal coupling from block to test specimen in the dry block function. A patented infrared calibration sleeve is used for the calibration of IR pyrometers or thermal imaging cameras. Furthermore, we offer surface calibration sleeves, calibration liquids, calibration reference probes and a cup insert as accessories.
