Mode of operation:
The sensor works by detecting vortices that form behind a disturbing body around which water flows. This Kármán vortex street is formed when water flows around the disturbing body. The distance between the vortices remainsconstant, and the frequency at which the vortices flow past a sensor depends on the flow velocity and is therefore proportional to the flow rate. The fully encapsulated piezoceramic sensor converts these vortices into an electrical frequency signal.
