Operating instructions for SIKA temperature calibrators - TP Premium series

The SIKA temperature calibrators in the TP Premium series are used in many different industries and areas of application. They are ideal for on-site use in workshops, measuring and test rooms and laboratories. The TP Premium series covers a wide range of applications, including

  • Assembly and commissioning
  • Manufacturing and production
  • Maintenance and service
  • Quality assurance
  • Test equipment monitoring
  • Repair

Microbath function: For unusual sensor geometries

The microbath function offers advantages when testing temperature sensors with unusual shapes and dimensions. The test specimen is immersed directly in the calibration liquid (e.g. silicone oil) without insulating air gaps, which enables direct temperature transfer between the calibrator and the test specimen.

  • Liquid selection: The calibration liquid is selected according to the required calibration temperature.
  • Magnetic stirrer: Infinitely variable control of the magnetic stirrer ensures optimum turbulence of the calibration liquid and uniform temperature distribution.
  • Sensor basket: The pull-out sensor basket protects the bottom of the tank and enables trouble-free agitator operation.

Dry block function: Precise and simple calibration

The dry block function was developed to enable simple calibration in laboratory and field use. By using the correct adapter sleeve, optimum thermal coupling between the block and the test specimen is achieved.

  • Universal application: Almost all straight temperature sensors of different lengths and diameters can be calibrated with the adapter sleeves.
  • Efficient calibration: The dry block covers the entire temperature range without having to change the calibration medium. This enables calibration regardless of viscosities, flash points or outgassing.

Blackbody function: Calibration of IR pyrometers

A patented infrared calibration sleeveis usedfor the calibration of infrared pyrometers or thermal imaging cameras. This sleeve has a special surface structure and asymmetrical shapes that form a "black cavity radiator" with an emission factor of 0.9994.

  • Prevent interference radiation: The design prevents the reflection of interference radiation.
  • Easy to use: The pyrometer is held at the prescribed distance above the measuring opening and forms the desired measuring spot at the bottom of the sleeve. Direct mounting of a tripod is possible.

Surface temperature function: Precise surface calibration

Special sleeves are used to calibrate surface temperature sensors, which are placed vertically with the required contact pressure. The best possible temperature reference point on the surface of the sleeve is achieved by switching to the external reference sensor, which is located directly under the face of the sleeve.

  • Optimum temperature adjustment: The sleeve is designed to ensure the best temperature homogeneity in the center of the end face.

Options:

  • Without: Standard version without measuring instrument.
  • Integrated measuring instrument: Optionally with integrated measuring instrument for direct recording of calibration data.

Summary:

The SIKA TP Premium series offers a versatile and precise solution for the calibration of temperature sensors in various applications. Thanks to the microbath, dry block, blackbody and surface temperature functions, different sensor types and shapes can be accurately calibrated. The combination of high flexibility, user-friendliness and efficient handling makes the TP Premium series the ideal choice for workshops, laboratories and test rooms where precision and efficiency are required.
