Type UM RTD.2 / Hand-held measuring instruments / Resistance thermometers / -199.99...850 °C

Excellent measuring accuracies / Data logger / 2-, 3- and 4-wire connection possible / User-specific sensor characteristic / Switchable measuring inputs

The digital universal temperature hand-held measuring instrument has been specially developed for the use of Pt100 exchangeable sensors. It offers high accuracy in signal acquisition and processing due to powerful sensors with electronic linearization of the characteristic curve. Suitable probes are available for extensive measuring tasks.

The shapely housing and the advanced technology of the instrument allow comfortable handling, especially in mobile use. All functions can be conveniently selected and executed by pressing a key. The membrane keypad ensures protection against dust and moisture.

In addition to the standard functions such as MIN/MAX value and hold function, various calculated values such as differential temperature, differential pressure, dew point or heat content can also be displayed on the multifunction display.

Thanks to the automatic sensor recognition via standard DIN sockets, a simple plug & play installation is possible. The UM RTD.2 function enables the use of customer-specific curves and offers very high measurement accuracy. In order to use this, appropriately high-quality temperature sensors must be used, for which various accuracy classes are available.

For applications with very high accuracy requirements, which are higher than the accuracy of the sensor itself, it is recommended to calibrate the sensor to the measuring instrument via a user characteristic curve. Here, the calibrated actual values of the sensor are determined and compared with the actual temperatures in a comparison table. The user characteristic curve is generated from these reference points via a mathematical function and stored in the measuring instrument. Up to 10 value pairs can be stored in the UM RTD.2.

To transfer the measured and stored values to a PC, most instruments are equipped with a serial interface. Various software packages with extensive recorder and display functions as well as for evaluation of the logger and alarm values are available. Process sequences can be clearly monitored and analyzed with the recorded and visualized measurement processes. All data can be exported to standard programs such as Excel.

An optical and acoustic warning signal indicates exceeding or falling below a programmed alarm point. Transmission via PC is also possible. All data can be displayed thanks to the real-time clock with year and date.
