SIKA flow switches are used to monitor volume flows and are available in various nominal sizes and switching point ranges to meet the requirements of different applications. Thanks to the modular principle, product variants and options can be tailored to individual requirements, offering a high degree of flexibility in terms of temperature and pressure ranges, material selection and connection options. For this reason, SIKA flow switches are used in numerous areas such as heating technology, industrial cooling circuits, water treatment and drinking water applications.

The flow switch consists of a paddle system with a permanent magnet at the upper end, above which a reed contact is located outside the flow. A second magnet generates a restoring force for the paddle. When the flow to be monitored hits the paddle system, it is deflected, thereby changing the position of the magnet in relation to the reed contact and actuating it. As soon as the flow is interrupted, the paddle moves back to its starting position and actuates the reed contact again. The required restoring force is generated by the two magnets repelling each other.

By using magnetic force instead of a conventional leaf spring, the SIKA flow switch offers significantly better long-term stability and greater insensitivity to pressure peaks.
