Type VK306 Flow switch for direct installation Plastic version with PVC sheathed cable DN 20...200 Rising ON 1...45.0 m3/h Falling OFF 0.9...43.5 m3/h
Universal flow switches for DN 20...200 / Adaptation to nominal size and switching point adjustment by shortening the paddle / Screw-in spigot for T-pieces or direct pipe installation
SIKA flow switches are used for monitoring volumetric flows and are available in various nominal sizes and switching point ranges depending on requirements. Thanks to the modular "building block principle", the product variants and options can be flexibly adapted to a wide variety of applications. The wide temperature and pressure ranges, the choice of materials and the diverse connection options offer high flexibility and make SIKA flow switches a popular choice in many fields:
- Heating technology
- Industrial cooling circuits
- Water treatment
- Drinking water applications
The operating principle of the flow switch consists of a paddle system with a permanent magnet at the upper end. A reed contact is located outside the flow above the magnet. A second magnet generates a restoring force for the paddle. When the flow hits the paddle system, it is deflected, causing the magnet to change position to the reed contact and actuate it. When the flow is interrupted, the paddle returns to its original position and actuates the reed contact again. The restoring force required for this is generated by the repulsing magnets.
Compared to conventional leaf springs, the utilization of magnetic force offers significantly higher long-term stability and insensitivity to pressure peaks.
