Flow switch with PVC pipe section / plastic version

SIKA flow switches are widely used in the monitoring of volume flows. They are available in various nominal sizes and switching point ranges and can be adapted to different requirements thanks to the modular design principle. Flexibility is further increased by the choice of different materials, connection options and temperature and pressure ranges.

Typical applications include heating technology, industrial cooling circuits, water treatment and drinking water applications. The flow switches consist of a paddle system with a permanent magnet at the tip. A reed contact is located above the magnet, but outside the flow area.

A second magnet generates a restoring force for the paddle. When the medium to be monitored hits the paddle system, it is deflected, thereby changing the position of the magnet in relation to the reed contact, which is thus actuated. If the flow is interrupted, the paddle moves back to its original position and actuates the reed contact again. The restoring force required for this is generated by the repelling magnets. Thanks to the use of magnetic force instead of a conventional leaf spring, the flow switch is more stable over the long term and less sensitive to pressure peaks.
