Type VKX15 Flow switch for direct installation Plastic version with PVC sheathed pipe DN 15
Cost-optimized design / Easy installation by means of push-in mounting in blocks or fittings
The SIKA flow switches are used for monitoring volume flows. Depending on the requirements, they are available for different nominal sizes and switching point ranges. Due to the "modular principle", the product variants and options can be adapted to a wide range of applications. The wide temperature and pressure ranges as well as the choice of materials or the various connection options offer a very high degree of flexibility. This is why SIKA flow switches are used in many areas:
- Heating technology
- Industrial cooling circuits
- Water treatment
- Drinking water applications
This flow switch is particularly suitable for pool applications.
The flow switch consists of a paddle system with a permanent magnet at its upper end. A reed contact is placed above this magnet outside the flow.
A second magnet is used to generate a restoring force, for the paddle. When the flow to be monitored hits the paddle system, it is deflected. This causes the magnet to change its position relative to the reed contact, which is thus actuated. As soon as the flow is interrupted, the paddle moves back to its initial position and thus actuates the reed contact again. The restoring force required for this is generated by the two repulsing magnets.
Utilizing the magnetic force, compared to a conventional leaf spring, results in significantly better long-term stability and much higher insensitivity to pressure peaks.
