The insertion flow sensors of type VTH15 have been specially developed for installation in fittings and are characterized by their simple and space-saving system integration. Typical applications for these flow sensors are:

  • Drinking water tap detection
  • Water treatment
  • Leakage detection

The slide-in flow sensor consists of two components: a turbine slide-in and a Hall-effect sensor. This design enables space-saving installation. A high-quality sapphire bearing ensures a long service life of the measuring system and enables the measurement of small flow rates from one liter per minute.

The liquid flowing into the turbine flow sensor is split into partial jets by the guide vanes. These impinge uniformly on the impeller from different directions and cause it to rotate. The rotational speed of the impeller is detected by a magnet-equipped rotor and a Hall-effect sensor and converted into a flow-proportional frequency signal (square-wave signal).

The bearing of the sensor ensures a uniform incident flow, which largely cancels out the forces and minimizes wear. The use of extremely hard bearing materials such as sapphire and carbide ensures an exceptional service life.
