Leak detection in water pipes
-
Flow monitoring in fittings and devices
Structure and functionality
The plug-in flow sensor consists of two central components:
-
turbine use
-
Hall Effect Sensor
The fluid flowing through the sensor is evenly distributed onto the impeller via a guide vane. This causes the turbine wheel to rotate. The rotational movement of the magnetically equipped impeller is then detected by the Hall effect sensor.
This movement generates a flow-proportional frequency signal (square wave signal) that can be used for further evaluation.
The even flow distribution reduces mechanical stress on the bearings. This minimizes wear and tear and ensures a particularly long service life for the sensor.
High-quality bearing technology for a long service life
The turbine wheel bearing is made of particularly robust materials such as sapphire and carbide. These materials are characterized by very high wear resistance and ensure consistently stable measurement performance—even during long-term use in industrial applications.
