VTY15 plug-in flow sensor for precise flow measurement
The VTY15 series plug-in flow sensors have been specially developed for installation in fittings and industrial systems. Their compact design makes them particularly easy to integrate into existing applications and requires only minimal installation space. The sensor is ideal for precise flow measurements of water and other liquids in technical systems.
Typical areas of application for the turbine flow sensor include:
-
Drinking water tap detection in water systems
-
Water treatment and water purification
-
Leakage monitoring and flow control
-
Industrial process monitoring
The insert sensor consists of a turbine module and a Hall effect sensor, which together form a compact and reliable solution for flow measurement. A high-quality sapphire bearing reduces friction and ensures a particularly long service life. Thanks to its low start-up speed, the sensor can reliably measure even small flow rates from around 1 l/min.
Advantages of the VTY15 turbine flow sensor
-
Precise and stable flow measurement
-
Constant pulse rate with low serial dispersion
-
High measurement accuracy over a wide measuring range
-
Low wear thanks to high-quality bearing technology
-
Compact design for easy integration
-
Proven in numerous industrial series applications
How the turbine flow sensor works
The fluid flowing through the sensor is first divided into several partial flows by a guide vane. These flow evenly onto the turbine wheel from different directions and set it in rotation. The rotational movement of the turbine is then recorded electronically.
Since the impeller is magnetically equipped, an integrated Hall effect sensor detects the rotation and converts it into an electrical signal. The result is a flow-proportional frequency signal (square wave signal) that can be used directly for evaluation in control systems or measuring systems.
The uniform flow of air through the bearing largely compensates for mechanical forces, minimizing wear. In addition, extremely resistant materials such as sapphire and carbide ensure a particularly long service life and reliable measurements, even in continuous operation.
