Type VTY25 Cartridge turbine flow sensors Cartridge for drinking water applications 1 ...90 l/min DN 25
Low series dispersion, fixed pulse rate / High measuring accuracy / Low wear and extremely long service life due to high-quality bearings / Compact dimensions, proven in numerous large-scale applications
Description
The VTY25 series plug-in flow sensors have been specially developed for installation in fittings. Their compact design makes them particularly easy to integrate into existing systems and saves space. Typical areas of application for these sensors include:
-
Drinking water tap detection
-
Applications in water treatment
-
Leakage monitoring in water systems
The sensor consists of two main components: a turbine module and a Hall effect sensor. This design allows for very compact integration into fittings and forms the basis for reliable flow measurement. A precise sapphire bearing ensures a long service life for the measuring system. Thanks to the low start-up speed, even small flow rates of around 1 liter per minute can be reliably detected.
Special features
-
Low series dispersion at constant pulse rate
-
High accuracy in flow measurement
-
Minimal wear and tear and very long service life thanks to high-quality bearing technology
-
Compact design for easy integration
-
Successfully used in numerous series applications
The fluid flowing through the sensor is first divided into several partial flows by a guide vane. These flow evenly onto the impeller from different directions and set it in rotation. The rotational movement of the impeller is then converted into an electrical signal.
Since the impeller is magnetically equipped, a Hall effect sensor detects the rotation and converts it into a flow-proportional frequency signal (square wave signal). The uniform flow distribution largely balances the forces on the bearings, significantly reducing wear. In addition, the particularly resistant materials sapphire and carbide ensure an exceptionally long service life for the sensor.
