We offer the robust Humimeter FLS hay probe, which is 2 meters long and can be divided for cost-effective shipping. If the hay brought in is too moist, fungal and bacterial growth can occur during storage. These processes release energy in the form of heat, which leads to a rise in temperature in the haystack. It is the duty of the hayloft operator to regularly and strictly monitor the stored hay, as required by the Fire Police Regulations. Failure to comply with this duty may, in the event of an emergency, be considered negligent arson and result in the loss of insurance coverage.

The water content of the hay can be measured with the hay probe even before it is placed in the hayloft, e.g. on the loader wagon or during drying. A water content of less than 14% is considered safe, so that a decision can be made before storage as to whether the hay still needs to be re-dried or whether the water content is low enough for safe storage.

The Humimeter FLS hay probe enables easy control of the moisture content and temperature even in deep layers of the haystack. Through regular and thorough checks, developing hot spots or moisture pockets can be detected and treated at an early stage.

FLS with extension:

Sent separately for shipping. During initial assembly, plug the extension together (electronics) and screw it on. FLS should be stored screwed together after initial assembly. FLS is not suitable for multiple disassembly of the extension. FLS with 2 m rod is only suitable for loose hay and not for straw bales! Risk of breakage.

For repairs or ordering replacement probes, it is essential that the complete set (FLS device including extension lance and electrical connection) is sent to us. This is the only way we can ensure that the entire system functions correctly and is matched to the calibrated measuring rod.

Application area

Activate the hay probe of the Humimeter FLS by pressing the ON button for 3 seconds. After a short time the probe is ready for use. The hay probe is factory calibrated so that the moisture content is shown directly on the illuminated display without the need for conversion or lookup in tables.

Insert the 2-meter lance into the haystack to measure moisture content and temperature. By taking targeted measurements at different depths, you can detect moisture pockets and regions of elevated temperature. The measurement is taken in the area around the tip of the probe.

You can measure at many different locations in a short time or leave the probe at one location to continuously monitor the drying and temperature progress of a critical region. Fulfill your duty to regularly monitor the hay easily and reliably. Documentation of the measured values can be easily carried out on the device. Each measured value can be stored on the Humimeter FLS at the touch of a button.

With the optional USB interface, the stored values can be transferred to a PC or printed out on a portable measured value printer.
