Standard orifice plates as differential pressure transducers for measuring the flow of liquids, gases or vapors.
Standard orifice plates are used as differential pressure transducers for measuring the flow of liquids, gases or vapors. They are installed between flanges with smooth sealing strips in the pipe and have an overall length of 65 mm. The standard orifice plates are calculated in accordance with DIN EN ISO 5167.
The straight inlet section of the standard orifice plate should preferably be 10 x D (D = inner pipe diameter), while the outlet section should be 5 x D. The choice of materials depends on the temperature, pressure and aggressiveness of the medium. Special designs for higher pressures, higher temperatures or larger nominal diameters can be manufactured on request and according to the technical possibilities.
Annular chamber standard orifice plates are used in the flow measurement of gases and liquids in pipelines. Here are some examples of applications for ring chamber orifice plates:
