Type VZ GG Gearwheel flow sensors with subplate Ductile iron housing 0 .008...250l/min
High-precision measurement with excellent repeatability / HT version for temperatures up to 150 °C with thermally insulated preamplifier (option) / Various housing and seal materials. Universally applicable for different measuring media / Standard process connection via connection plates. Quickly replaceable without long process interruption.
The SIKA gearwheel volume sensors are optimally suited for the detection of volume flows with high and varying viscosity in different application areas, such as:
- Consumption measurement
- Control of filling processes
- Dosing of oils and chemicals
- Acquisition of colors/lacquers
The sensor's measuring mechanism consists of a pair of precisely fitted gears inside the housing. The incoming medium sets the gear pair in rotation, which is scanned by sensors without contact. Since each individual tooth generates a pulse, this results in a high resolution. This means that even the smallest volumes can be precisely measured or metered.
In order to achieve a 2-channel frequency signal proportional to the flow rate, two sensors are installed in the measuring unit offset by ¼ tooth pitch. By further processing the signal, the resolution can be further improved and the flow direction can be detected.
The maximum pressure drop should not exceed 16 bar, otherwise the measuring range is limited with highly viscous media (see pressure drop diagrams)
The size of the devices can be between 0.025 and 5. Depending on the process connection, connecting plates in sizes G3/8, G1/2 and G1 are available. There is also the option of an integrated preamplifier or a version without preamplifier. If a high temperature application is present, the appropriate version can be selected. Seals made of FKM, FEP or EPDM are available for sealing.
