Oval wheel flow meter with flange connection

Stainless steel housing with PEEK measuring element – Type VO…VP Flange

  • High measurement accuracy and excellent repeatability

  • Low pressure loss thanks to optimized measuring principle

  • Suitable for chemical liquids, industrial media, mineral oils, and fuels

  • Insensitive to vibrations, pressure fluctuations, and changes in viscosity

Description

The VO…VP series of oval wheel flow meters with flange connections were developed for the precise measurement of the volume and volume flow of liquids. Thanks to their robust stainless steel housing and durable PEEK measuring element, they are particularly suitable for demanding applications in industrial and process plants.

Typical areas of application include:

  • Monitoring of lubricants and oils

  • Dosing and measuring systems in industrial plants

  • Applications in food and beverage production

  • Measurement of fuels and chemical liquids

The flow meters operate according to the displacement principle, whereby the actual volume of liquid transported is measured directly. This achieves a particularly high degree of measurement accuracy and excellent repeatability.

Advantages of the oval wheel flow meter

  • Direct volumetric measurement using the displacement principle

  • No special entry or exit routes required

  • Robust stainless steel construction for high reliability and long service life

  • Very good long-term stability of measured values

  • High measurement precision and repeatability

  • Easy integration into piping systems thanks to flange connection

Measuring principle

Oval wheel flow meters belong to the group of displacement meters, in which defined partial volumes are transported within a measuring chamber. The measuring element consists of two precisely manufactured oval wheels that mesh with each other.

The flow of the medium causes the oval wheels to rotate and roll off each other. With each complete revolution of the oval wheel pair, a precisely defined volume of liquid is transported through the sensor.

The number of rotations corresponds directly to the actual amount of fluid that has flowed through. An integrated sensor detects these rotations and converts them into an electrical signal for further processing.
